lights stay on throttle

This article is for the Kuberg Trial, Cross, Start, Trial Hero & Cross Hero.

‍Symptoms
* The throttle is constantly showing the bottom two lights (Sometimes just one light), even when the magnetic kill switch is not engaged.
* The bike will not run

If your throttle is constantly showing the bottom two lights (Sometimes just one light), even when the magnetic kill switch is not engaged, and your bike will not run, then the error is most likely caused by an issue with the charge port.
It is possible that debris or water has got into the port and is creating a false connection, cleaning with a cloth or air compression should solve this.
Another possibility is that there is some corrosion on the connector, remove the connector, clean this off and reconnect.

If the symptoms remain after cleaning, the charge port should be replaced.

In the meantime, it is possible to use your bike by completing the charge port circuit.
The controller in the Kuberg Hero and Start models will restrict the use of the bike if there is an issue with the charge port, this stops the wrong type of charger from being used as well as stopping the power flowing from the bike and damaging the charger.

If you would like to use a Kuberg Hero or Start while you are waiting for a replacement charge port, or if you have installed aftermarket batteries that use a different charger, there is a way to bypass this safety feature.
This is at your own risk to yourself and the controller on your Kuberg.

Make sure the bike is turned off by disconnecting the batteries from the controller.
2. Remove the charge port from the bike.
3. Use wire strippers or a sharp knife to remove the insulation to reveal three internal cables, (white, Green & Brown)
4. Use wire strippers or a sharp knife to remove the insulation to reveal the internal wires of the Green and brown cables.
5. Twist the green and brown cables to make a good connection and securely cover them with electrical tape.
6. Securely cover the end of the white cable with electrical tape.
7. Install the charge port to the bike and reconnect the batteries to the controller.

The bike will now work as normal.

If you no longer have the charge port, you can achieve the same results by making a connection between the rightmost and middle slot of the charge port connection on the controller.
