Lateral clearance/movement in wheels

During a regular motorcycle checkup before and after each ride You should also check the wheel bearings to ensure the riding quality and safety.

Follow these steps to check the wheel hub bearings:

  1. Make sure, that the magnetic kill switch is in OFF position (magnet NOT attached).
  2. Place the motorcycle on a solid and level surface of a mounting stand, so that both wheels are on the ground.
  3. Acording to the motorcycle manual check all bolts and nuts on both wheels, front suspension fork and rear swingarm for tightness.
  4. Ask another person to sit on the motorcycle to secure its position on the stand. Do NOT engage any brake.
  5. (Front tire): Place Your hand up on the tire close to the front suspension fork and the other hand down on the opposite side of the tire. Try to wiggle/move sideways the wheel just about an inch (2 - 3 cm).
  6. (Rear tire): Stand from the left side of the motorcycle and place Your hand on the tire close to the swingarm and the other hand on the opposite side of the tire. Try to wiggle/move sideways the wheel just about an inch (2 - 3 cm).
  7. If You can feel any movement in any hub, the bearings should be changed, so please contact Your local selling dealer or KUBERG Customer Service.
